‘Green India challenge must go beyond India’

Hyderabad: British deputy high commissioner Andrew Fleming on Sunday said: “Trees give peace to the souls of men”. As part of Green India Challenge (GIC), he planted saplings at Panchavati in Banjara Hills and heaped praises on the challenge. On the occasion of IT minister KT Rama Rao’s birthday, Andrew Fleming along with Covid warriors participated in a tree plantation programme conducted under the aegis of GIC. He said that English literature propounded that mankind should not forget the importance of the growth of human beings and their roots with the trees. He asserted that the growth of human beings should be compared with plants. Hyderabad has witnessed a big change in weather as the green cover has been improved a lot, he added.
