CRPF shifts training centre from Srinagar to Pulwama

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has relocated two of its centres, including a training centre in Srinagar.

PRO CRPF, Junaid Khan, told the media that due to space constraints at the Recruit Training Centre (RTC), Humhama, the centre has been shifted to Lethpora, Pulwama, while as a Group centre, Srinagar from its present location Rambagh has been shifted to Humhama area of Srinagar.

“The formal recruit training used to happen in Humhama centre earlier but now the training will happen in Lethpora permanently,” he said.

The PRO further added that the group centre is the headquarters of the battalion where the procurements and logistics for the soldiers are done. He added that the plan to relocate the centre to Lethpora – much bigger than the existing one – was done a few years ago but got delayed due to some issues.

An official from the CRPF said that the centre was relocated in view of the “prevailing situation”. He said CRPF is concerned about the safe travel and transportation of its troops.—KMS
