BBMP bans meat sale across Bengaluru on Ram Navami


Karnataka: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Friday issued circular banning sale of meat across city on April 10 on the account of Ram Navami festival. Meanwhile, various schools in the Bengaluru received bomb threats on Friday morning. “A very powerful bomb has been planted in your school,” the threat mail read. Bomb squads were deployed at the locations and students were evacuated to safer places. Senior police officers visited the schools and conducted investigations. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai called the incident a conspiracy to disturb peace in the state. “I have instructed the police to take the matter seriously and investigate and arrest the accused. Students and parents need not worry as the government and police will take appropriate action,” he said.
