New Delhi: BJP has time and again successfully tested the formula of Muslim oppression before elections. Slogan of “80 vs 20 & Us vs Them” will continue to undermine Muslims in every field in India. Use of religious card through Hijab controversy is useful for BJP as India reels from economic disruptions from the pandemic, with rising unemployment and inflation sparking protests in some parts of the country. Under Modi's rule, far-right Hindu nationalists have become emboldened in use of violence against country's Muslim minority. Any voice raised by Muslims will continue to be suppressed through false flags, blame game and oppression like Gujarat. Unless Muslim leaders and scholars sensitize them about Indian machinations; the saga of Muslims suffering will remain forever. US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) in its Annual Report 2021 recommended US government to designate India as a country of particular concern for engaging in and tolerating in systematic ongoing and egregious religious freedom violations. Indian Hindu govt will continue to engineer electoral campaign by using anti-Muslim cards.
