In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the protest by Kashmiri Pandit employees to press for their demand of relocation outside the Kashmir Valley entered 71st day, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Pandit employees along with their families have been sitting on the roadside in the Vessu area of Islamabad district and at other places in the Valley, demanding their relocation in the wake of spurt in target killings.
The protest by the Pandit employees started on May 12 when their colleague and community fellow Rahul Butt was killed by unknown gunmen in Chadoora town in Budgam district. Demanding justice, Kashmiri Pandits employed under the Indian PM’s package have been holding protests since then.
The fear-stricken employees said their protests will continue till their demands are not met, adding they should either be relocated or the authorities should give them a breathing time till complete normalcy is achieved in the valley.—INP
